The Phoenix product platform of endoscopic biopsy devices has been generated to fulfill the needs of clinicians across medical fields for next-generation, minimally invasive, cost-effective devices designed to safely, reliably, and consistently obtain high-quality biopsy samples during endoscopic procedures; that is, procedures in which a long, flexible instrument is gently guided through and into spaces of the body such the digestive system (esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy), the upper (rhinolaryngoscopy) and lower (bronchoscopy) airways, the interior of a joint (arthroscopy), the urinary tract (ureterocystoscopy), the gynecologic system (cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes), and many other tissues, for discovery and direct visualization of tissue abnormalities.

Health Care Advancements:
- Phoenix platform technologies utilize TransMed7’s patented Zero5 technology with a forward-cutting, forward-coring working element designed to obtain solid, full-core, uniform-diameter tissue samples with intact architecture.
- Because TransMed7’s Zero5 technology mechanisms can be manufactured in very small dimensions, the Phoenix devices are designed to obtain endoscopic biopsy samples from very small spaces in the body.
- As with other devices utilizing TransMed7’s Zero5 technology, there is no “dead space” beyond the tips of the Phoenix beaks, meaning that the working element can take core biopsy samples all the way through (and beyond, if desired) the tissue abnormality, thereby minimizing potential damage to important nearby structures (e.g. nerves, blood vessels, neighboring organs). Phoenix devices are thus designed to be as safe as possible while maintaining a high degree of cost-effectiveness and ease of use, enabling clinicians who currently perform endoscopic biopsy procedures to readily adapt to using the Phoenix devices.
