Victor Chen, MD

Dr. Victor Chen serves as Chair of the Gynecologic Health Team of the TransMed7 Clinical and Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Chen is an obstetrician and gynecologist with special emphases on high risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecological surgery, including extensive experience in vaginal surgery and the use of advanced robotics.  He is a practicing physician with Genesis ObGyn, a large private practice group located in Tucson, Arizona since 2008.  He has served as President of the group since 2012.  Widely recognized for his interest in minimally invasive surgery and a champion of robotics technology for the field of gynecological surgery, Dr. Chen continually seeks out the latest medical innovations to add to his group’s capabilities, a passion fueled by the combination of his background in mechanical engineering prior to becoming a physician.

Before joining Genesis ObGyn, Dr. Chen was a physician in obstetrics and gynecology at the Thomas Davis Medical Centers in Tucson for over three years, where he built a reputation as a compassionate women’s health advocate, carrying that mindset forward daily in his medical practice.  In 1999 he established his own solo private practice, growing the organization as Generation’s Healthcare for Women with four physicians before the group joined Genesis OBGYN.

Dr. Chen has served as Vice Chairman on the board of trustees at Oro Valley Hospital since 2004; as OBGYN Section Head at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona from 2002-2006; and as a Performance Improvement Committee member at Northwest Medical Center from 2009-2010.  He is a member of the Marketing Committee of the US Women’s Health Alliance, an organization of the largest OBGYN practices in the United States that is dedicated to the mission of providing the highest quality of care and patient satisfaction to all women since its inception in 2012.

Dr. Chen received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Arizona.  He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa, Texas.
